Medieval and Renaissance
Native Californian Holly Scarborough is a performer of medieval and Renaissance transverse flutes, pipe and tabor, and percussion; she has been invited to stages in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Germany, France, England, Finland, Kosovo, and the United States. She directs Zweigulden, co-directs Ensemble Parlamento, and is Managing Director of ReRenaissance, which presents music before 1600 in monthly concerts and in a biannual festival in Basel, Switzerland. Her scholarly research focuses on German secular music and the evolving transverse flute around 1500. She loves interpreting parchment manuscripts, dreaming up concepts and collaborations, and sharing sounds and stories with others.
